For this batch, I decided to step away from mountains and lakes and focus on five city photographs instead. I remembered taking some great night pictures and plenty of random shots while exploring Calgary, so I thought this would be an easy theme…It was not quite that simple.
Some of the night photos had strong lens glare, overexposed lights, or people somewhere in the frame. Even when someone appeared far in the background, WordPress was very careful about avoiding any possibility of identifying them. Honestly, I understand and appreciate that level of caution, even if it made the selection process a little more challenging.
After three rejected photographs, I briefly considered returning to the safe and reliable crowd-pleaser: nature photos, to which I had plenty of. Unfortunately for my free time, I am also stubborn. I went back through my albums, searched for more city scenes that followed the guidelines, and eventually completed the batch.
Mission accomplished: five city photographs accepted, a few lessons learned, and my Calgary camera roll thoroughly inspected. More contributions are still on the way!
